Η Competition Commission of Great Britain imposed a fine of about 60 million euros on Facebook, for violation of competition law.

In particular, the American company failed to provide full and detailed information on its compliance with the continuation of competition with this platform, as provided by law, while at the same time continued to integrate the functions of Giphy, despite the fact that the authorities' investigation is still in progress.
According to British Competition Commission (CMA), the fine imposed is a warning that no company is above the law.
The Facebook appealed to two separate courts, but these were dismissed.
