H Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi announced that by April 2022 (from this month), developers participating in their own App Stores, will not be allowed to register applications based on the 32 bit architecture.

Μafter its exclusion Huawei by the US government, but also the ban on Huawei from using it Google Play Store and others Google services In its new devices, the rest of the Chinese Smartphone makers have started promoting their own applications in their own App Stores.

While Huawei already spends a lot of money to bring third-party Developer applications to its own AppGallery, other Chinese Smartphone manufacturers such as Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi have now focused on transferring the lost Huawei traffic to their own App Stores.

Now in a recent move, the members of this alliance which includes Oppo, ViVo and Xiaomi, announced that by April 2022 (from this month), developers participating in their own App Stores, will not be allowed to register applications based on 32 bit architecture.

A first mention of this alliance move was made by Read, and as mentioned in the relevant article, the Oppo, the Vivo and Xiaomi will prohibit their application stores from accepting separate application packages based on the 32-bit architecture. The decision is said to take effect this month, but toys will not be subject to an immediate ban.

Η 64-bit architecture can handle more data simultaneously, allowing new and existing mobile technologies to thrive. CPUs running 64-bit code can collect, transfer, and process larger amounts of data in less time than 32-bit code, resulting in higher performance, which in some cases can reach up to and 20% on certain types of work.

It is noted that the latest SoC platforms including Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC perform best with applications written in 64-bit code. 32-bit applications have become obsolete and will be completely abolished in the future.

In fact, the Apple, on her own iOS operating system, made a similar move by 2017 and completely shifted to the 64-bit platform.

It is also worth noting that its companies Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi and Huawei, had previously announced that they would join forces against Google Play Store, and collaborated to enable developers to upload their applications to all of their own App Store (application stores) at the same time.
