OAED: The new application of the Organization for mobile phones and tablets was launched

Ο OAED launches the new application OAEDapp where citizens can download it from today on their mobile phones and tablets.


Μwith the new application ΟAΕΔapp, more than 40 online services is now in the hands of every citizen, easily, directly and quickly. It is part of an overall strategy of the Organization implemented in the last year with the aim of gradually digitizing its services with a corresponding reduction of visits to physical branches.

In a teleconference attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Costis Hatzidakis, the commander of OAED Spyros Protopsaltis, executives of the Organization, as well as citizens who had the opportunity to be the first to use the new application, were presented the technical characteristics and the flexibility and navigation possibilities that it offers to its users.

«With the new application, OAED is in the hands of every citizen. OAED itself comes to the citizen and not the citizen to OAED", Said during his speech Mr. Hatzidakis. «At the same time, we offer another useful tool for our fellow citizens to communicate with the Organization, but also for their immediate information on current programs and job opportunities. What is required for us is that the unemployed do not feel inactive", He emphasized characteristically.

The application for the unemployment subsidy and the registration for the issuance of an unemployment card have been done electronically for a year now, reducing by an average of 65% the total load of visits to the OAED branches. In simple words, every year about 300.000 citizens do not have to go to OAED as they can, through the website of the Organization oaed.gr or through the digital services of Gov.gr, be served immediately, quickly and easily ", he also stated. As he said, "our goal is for the remaining 35% of the visits to the OAED offices to be avoided through the implementation of additional digital services gradually by 2022.

Ο Mr. Hatzidakis finally stressed that its digitization OAED is part of an overall strategy that will be developed in the near future and will upgrade the level of service to citizens through all digital services through new digital services and modern communication channels.

The citizen should feel that the Ministry itself, OAED, e-EFKA, OPECA, respect his needs, his time and the difficulties he faces. That he is a citizen and not a citizen! We are a Democracy, we are not a despotism

He also stressed that:

  • The scattered call centers will work in a unified way.
  • The tactic of "downloaded or even broken phone" will end and the citizen will receive an answer to his question quickly and validly.
  • The websites of the public organizations that are supervised by our Ministry will be upgraded and will become nodes for information and answering questions.
  • We will also use the KEP in order to serve the citizen who does not have digital skills or who lives in remote areas where there are no branches e.g. of e-EFKA or OAED.
  • Gradually, new digital services will "come into play" not only from OAED but also for e-EFKA, OPEC and the Ministry itself.
  • The innovative service myDeskLive, the remote service of the citizen through video calling, will be extended beyond OAED and the very successful version of myOAEDlive, to e-EFKA and for this we are in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Government.

OAED digital services have entered the daily lives of employees, the unemployed, businesses, students and students as:

  • In 2020, 4,5 million electronic visits were made to the OAED register, which means that 4,5 million corresponding visits to the physical branches of the Organization were avoided.
  • More than 5,5 million online applications were submitted compared to 4,7 million in 2019, an increase of 17%.
  • More than 4,7 million electronic payments were made compared to the 1,5 million electronic payments in 2019.
  • Also, more than 70 million electronic interoperability transactions were made with other public bodies, recording an increase of 135% compared to 2019.

This practically means that OAED cooperates directly with other public bodies to obtain data, certificates or information that until recently the citizen himself would have to visit OAED to provide.

What services are provided

Through the new application OAEDapp services are provided from today such as:

  • Registration in the unemployment register and renewal of the unemployment card.
  • Application for benefits and other social benefits such as unemployment benefits, maternity benefits, book / show checks, etc.
  • Application for training, preparation, internship programs.
  • Objections to rejection decisions of the Agency.
  • Application for the issuance of an unemployment time certificate, which is issued immediately.
  • Management and immediate sending of CV.
  • Search in an interactive information map for OAED branches as well as guidance instructions for the specific branch.
  • Useful information related to the status of unemployed.
  • Information to citizens on more than 80 different services, including particularly important unemployment periods and the dates of renewal of the unemployment card at specific intervals.

The Commander of OAED Spyros Protopsaltis reported that

OAED has invested in innovation and its digital transformation with new and pioneering services such as "digital appointments" through myOAEDlive, distance learning and distance learning through Google's G-Suite for Education, as well as the gradual development of over 140 interoperabilities with others. public institutions, and continues to invest in order to offer better, higher quality and more direct services to citizens.

The new OAEDapp application is expected to bring a revolutionary change in how citizens benefit from public services and in how public bodies, such as OAED, utilize modern forms of artificial intelligence for the benefit of the public interest. The new OAED innovates and shows the way for the provision of modern digital services to the citizens. The application will be a real tool for citizens, simplifying procedures that will now be literally in their hands.

In the context of the presentation of the new application, two new ones registered in its registers OAED they had the opportunity to be the first to use its potential OAEDapp, making use of in real time, the posting and sending of a CV to an employer and the issuance of an unemployment certificate.
