Last week the Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch Lite, and now the company has unveiled a new update to the regular Switch.
Η Nintendo has not made any official announcement, however, has posted the console on its website.
Its new version Nintendo Switch has minimal changes and a big improvement in the battery. The company claims on its website that when we use the console as portable then its battery will last 4,5 to 9 hours depending on usage. The current version offers 2,5 to 6,5 hours of autonomy.
Otherwise, the new Nintendo Switch has the model number HAC-001 (-01) and uses the same processor as the Switch Lite, which is better than the old version.
The processor is codenamed Mariko and is based on a 16nm process. In contrast, the current version of the Nintendo Switch has a variant of the Tegra X1 based on a 20nm process. The new processor will offer better battery management and perhaps slightly better performance.
By design, the only difference between the two Nintendo Switches is in the box, where the company uses a more intense shade of red. However, we do not know if anything will change in the shade of the console.
The new Nintendo Switch will be available sometime in mid-August and will cost exactly the same as the current version.
