MIUI 10/11: Ads deactivation switch added to settings.

Η Xiaomi is preparing for the release of MIUI 11, the next version of its own Android-based operating system. According to previous information, the company will officially present MIUI 11 based on Android 10, on September 24.

The ad switch has been added to MIUI 10 V.9.8.29 (Beta) that was released a while ago, but also to the later versions that came out later.

The company is also rumored to be presenting the Mi MIX 4 (the new flagship of the Mi Mix series) at the same event.

Xiaomi has not shared much information, but from the little we know, it seems that the company will finally have the ability to turn off ads in MIUI 11, by pressing a switch in the settings.

So according to the latest information we found at Weibo, it seems that Xiaomi is incorporating a new key in the system settings, through which users will be able to use it to stop running ads throughout the operating system.

The introduction of such an approach to stopping ads seems to be somewhat extreme by the company. However, this is a result of the negative criticism that Xiaomi received from its users.

According to the Weibo post, Xiaomi's product manager and head of MIUI shared a screenshot with the ad removal button. The company noted that “Ad SwitchSeems to be the only way for users to get rid of ads on MIUI.

This switch can be found at Settings >> Privacy Agreement, etc >> System tool Advertising

Xiaomi is currently testing this switch ("Ad Switch") in the latest MIUI 10 Beta version for China, and once the company ensures that this feature works properly, it is likely to add it to MIUI 11 as well.

This is the second update related to the ads that Xiaomi has released in the last two months.
