Huawei: The MateBook D is finally coming, with Windows 10 pre-installed

Η Huawei announced today in China, the new series of notebooks MateBook D, in parallel with MatePad Pro and smart speaker Sound X.

Το MateBook D finally came with Windows 10 pre-installed, pleasantly surprising the company's Fans, and it proves that the US Department of Commerce has recently approved some licenses to trade with Huawei, including the one requested by Microsoft.

Microsoft revealed in a statement to Bloomberg a few days ago that it had been given permission to "export bulk software" to Huawei . While the company did not specify what exactly it means by "bulk market", we now understand that it includes the platform Windows 10 of Microsoft.

Before such a thing becomes possible, the Huawei had pre-installed it Deepin Linux in the models MateBook, as a replacement for Windows 10, since the telecommunications giant at that time was not able to use Windows 10 on MateBook models, since it was added to the US government blacklist.

That's how he sold Cheaper versions of MateBook laptops with Deepin Linux . Despite the advantages of installing Linux, Windows as a platform can not be replaced so easily. So the use of Windows 10 for Huawei laptop models should bring a huge recovery in sales for the company.

According to the US Department of Commerce, about 290 new applications for a license to do business with Huawei were filed last week. Unfortunately, only a handful of these applications are expected to be approved, and we do not know of any licensed companies other than Microsoft.

Microsoft had approached the Trump administration, and the got a license to do business with Huawei is a step forward. However, the struggle for survival for Huawei is not over. There are still companies like Google which are blocked by the US government from selling its software to the Chinese giant.

And Google is very important to Huawei, as it is still the second largest smartphone maker in the world. In fact, it could overcome even Samsung before the end of the year, and become the No.1 in the world. But without Google services on Huawei smartphones this seems a bit unlikely, as it makes essentially Dead on Arrival (DOA) its Smartphones, in international markets .

It is therefore extremely important for Huawei to have access to Google services as soon as possible. Unfortunately, given the current situation, we do not know if this will happen at any time in the near future.
