Η Apple, secured the rights of the "face recognition" patent in order to be used in the future as a way of locking / unlocking the car.
ΣAccording to official reports, the firm from Cupertino, California, had filed its application with the official patent office in early 2017, which has just been approved. This patent includes two methods for face recognition.
The first is the installation of this technology on the car, which allows the user to simply stand in front of the sensors, recognize his face and then enter inside. The second way is to use the Face ID application included in all iPhones (from X onwards) to unlock the car doors.
Also, the "face recognition" in this case may have recorded settings for more than one user, which relate to the driving position, the desired temperature in the air conditioning, but also the favorite type of music. The question now is whether Apple will want to launch the above technology in the global market, as at the end of January, the company laid off 200 employees, who were employed in the field of autonomous driving (Project Titan).
