Η LG continues to invest in people and the environment, producing products and services that improve everyday life and help to strengthen environmental awareness

The award-winning televisions LG OLED have a certified by the international organizations TÜV Rheinland (TUV) and Underwriter Laboratories (UL), as displays with low blue light, without flickering and blurring[1] so users can watch TV for longer with more comfort. LG OLED TVs are also the first displays of any type of TV to receive the certification Eyesafe® developed by TUV-Eyesafe®[2].

According to Eyesafe®[3], if the eyes are exposed for a long time to large amounts of harmful blue light, it can cause eye problems and suppression of melatonin leading to problems such as sleep disorders. That's why choosing the right TV is very important. According to tests, LG OLED screens emit less blue light than LED screens[4].

According to the testing company UL if the eyes are exposed to flickering screens for a long time, they will be strained. The flickering[5] it may be imperceptible on LED TVs when they have an operating system that makes the backlight blink to control brightness, and because the response time of LED panels is relatively long compared to OLED panels. Shorter response time and no backlight means that the televisions LG OLEDs do not flicker.

Accordingly, when a panel is dimmed it means that there is a big difference between the brightness of the surrounding area and the brightness of the screen. The LG panels are the first of their kind to receive certification as anti-glare by UL. The company conducted tests using a blur evaluation method[6], which is officially recognized by the International Lighting Commission. Measurements confirmed that LG OLED panels provide adjusted brightness in all conditions.

Finally, LG OLED TVs feature self-illuminating pixels, which eliminates the need for backlighting. In this way, fewer components are required to build the TVs and resources are saved. This means less toxic substances and less indoor air pollution while watching. It also reduces waste and improves the recycling rate at the end of the product's life.

LG continues to rise to the challenge of creating environmentally friendly services and products throughout their lifetime. Bring an LG OLED TV to life and make your life better!
