His new update OxygenOS 10.5.10 for OnePlus 8 Pro is quite interesting than we thought, as it turns on the infrared camera again with X-Ray color filter.
Πalthough no such thing is mentioned in changelog of the new update, we can confirm that the new update activates the infrared camera with the color filter “X ray"At OnePlus 8 Pro, which was previously disabled in his update OxygenOS 10.5.9.
The full changelog of the new ROM mentions several camera-related changes when it launched last week, but nowhere mentions that the color filter was activated again. We did not know that the functionality was back until the update started circulating in the US.
As you can see from the tests above, the function of the "Photochrom" camera is back and it seems to work almost exactly as before.
OnePlus said it would disable this feature initially in China but later in many other countries because the camera is able to see through certain opaque materials such as certain plastics and thin fabrics.
