His new social-app Instagram by name Threads, is a camera application that allows the user to share pictures, videos and messages exclusively with the group of contacts of their choice.
Η thinking about creating the app comes to support Facebook's overall goal of privacy.
How does it work;
It works similar to Instagram. Messages, videos and pictures, however, are only sent to "Close Friends", a list that has been available as an option since 2018. If you have not created such a list by now, you can do so directly from Threads in iOS and Android devices. There is the possibility to add or remove contacts whenever you wish.
Auto-Statuses
Until now, Instagram could notify some simple Status such as "I work", "I read" in cases where the user could not reply to a message. The new option given by Threads, once the site is activated, is Auto-Statuses. This in practice means that Close Friends will be able to be informed when the user is in a restaurant for example or even that he is on the move when he is in the car. There is always the option to turn off Auto-Statuses if the user changes their mind.
From Direct to Threads
While so far there have been moves to allow users to share emotions, situations, photos and videos through Stories and Direct, there seems to be a need to reach out to more specific people. Threads finally came to meet this need with the new possibilities they offer. By creating the "Close Friends List", one will be able to share what he wants with those he really wants, that is, a more "personal contact list" is created.
