Ο Darren Chen, President of HTC Taiwan, announced that the company will adopt a new strategy in 2019 in an effort to increase its market share and profitability in the smartphone market.
The plan is that the company will focus its efforts on high-end and mid-range smartphones, but this does not necessarily mean that we will see a new "flagship" from HTC in 2019. The company intends to expand life cycle of HTC U12 + and other U12 models next year. The latest 128GB version of the HTC U12 life is selling well, according to the company president.
In the mid-range, HTC's proposal is the Desire 12s, which comes equipped with the Snapdragon 435 SoC. The company hopes that this model will follow the course of U12 life and will make satisfactory sales in the festive period of Chinese New Year.
HTC plans to further promote its blockchain devices, especially since the Exodus 1 managed to sell out. The company also aims to turn Viveport into a powerful VR digital platform. The truth is that HTC has lost its old glamor in the field of smartphones, however it is by no means willing to leave this field.
