According to their latest research, 85 popular Play Store applications have been infected with malware AndroidOS_Hidenad.HRXH, and Google has already intervened to remove them immediately.
This malware constantly displays pop up ads and ad banners, while before the intervention of Google, its 85 applications had a total of over 8 million downloads. According to the company, this is a particularly "aggressive" software, as it continues and displays ads and large banners on every "infected" smartphone or tablet, even when its screen is off.
In many cases, they display such large ad banners that prevent the user from turning them off, for up to 5 minutes at a time, until the playback videos are completed, from which of course the coders who made it get a lot of money from the impressions.
TrendMicro has released the full list of 85 applications that have been infected - including several with over 1 million downloads, such as Super Selfie Camera, Cos Camera, Pop Camera and One Stroke Line Puzzle!
