Android: Google now brings "Nearby Share" feature

Fast and easy content delivery is now a possibility between two smartphones Android 6.0 or later, and in the future with Chromebooks.

Η  Google had spent years trying to develop a very fast and easy way of sharing content between two Android devices, and finally managed to find a solution to the problem.

Sharing content on Android so far has meant searching for a contact, attaching a file to a message and sending it, but "Nearby Share»Is intended to completely replace this process.

It works by showing a list of devices "near you" with which content can be shared. If you click on someone in the list, they will let you know that you want to share a file and they can accept or reject your request. To keep things as simple as possible, and to support most devices, Google automatically selects the best protocol for sending the file. Available options include Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, WebRTC and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi.

In addition to making content sharing a very fast and smooth process, the good news is that Google has managed to do "Nearby Share»Works with Android 6.0 and later, which means that most smartphones and tablets in use today can take advantage of it. There is also the promise of compatibility with Chromebooks which will be added "in the coming months", which Google considers a complementary feature to the existing one Instant Tethering.

Currently, "selected Google Pixel and Samsung devicesWill be the first smartphones to have access to "Nearby Share", however we expect that many more smartphones will activate it in the coming weeks.
