The end of sharing passwords on subscription platform Disney+ starts from Canada, and users of the service will no longer be able to share their Disney+ passwords and accounts with people outside their household
The subscription platform Disney + measure over 140 million subscribers worldwide, but in the last year it lost almost 20 million users. The company introduced new packages and raised prices on some in response, but now it's making more changes.
More specifically, users in Canada will no longer be able to share their passwords and accounts on Disney + with people outside their household. It Disney + sent a relevant email to its users, informing them that from November 1, shared accounts will be restricted. Only people living under the same roof will be able to watch platform programs on devices connected to the main account.
Essentially, Disney+ is following in its footsteps Netflix, except that the latter enables users to pay for additional subscribers who do not live in the same household. Nothing similar has been announced since Disney +, as well as whether "spam" users will be able to transfer their profile to keep their watchlist and recommendations intact.
The changes will start to apply from November 1st in Canada, but it is certain that soon this new policy will start to be implemented in other countries as well (and in GREECE).
