COSMOTE "throws" the technology in the fight against the pandemic.
Σthe State's effort to accelerate the digital transformation of the Public Sector, the COSMOTE stands as a helper, through integrated IT and Telecommunications solutions (ICT), which contribute to the faster and more efficient operation of the State mechanism in the fight against the coronavirus and in the communication of the state with the citizens.
The projects that were implemented in record time to be made available to the State Mechanism, are:
- The teleworking service for 10.000 Civil Servants through SYZEFXIS, which is provided free of charge for the next 3 months.
- The intangible prescription, which allows citizens to receive prescriptions on their mobile phones. The SMS required for the operation of the service for the whole of April were provided free of charge.
- The platform for electronic distribution and digital signing of Legislative Content Acts for the cabinet.
- The psychological support hotline 10306 and the routing of calls to 100 mental health specialists. The line was provided free of charge. COSMOTE subscriber calls are free.
Ο OTE Group also provides:
- Free access from mobile networks, without data charge (zerorating), to the digital platforms used by the Ministry of Education and Religions for distance education in schools.
- Free SMS for 3 months at the Business and Health Center (KEPY) of EKAB for the timely and valid information of the political leadership.

Contributing to the safety of civil servants and the smooth operation of critical public services during this difficult period, the OTE Group, as the contractor of the SYZEFXIS project, enabled the employees of public bodies, who are connected to the SYZEFXIS network, to work from home. . The project was implemented for the General Secretariat of Information Systems of Public Administration (GGPSDD) of the Ministry of Digital Governance and the Information Society SA. OTE Group will provide the service for free for the next 3 months, allowing up to 10.000 civil servants to connect, from home via VPN, directly to their office computer and have secure access to web applications of their service.
The OTE Group, in collaboration with the company BYTE, also proceeded with the implementation of the project of intangible prescribing, on behalf of the Ministries of Digital Governance and Health. Through this application, which is available at gov.gr, citizens now have the opportunity to receive their prescriptions quickly and simply, on their mobile phones, without having to submit them in hard copy to the pharmacist. In this context, the OTE Group provided free of charge to the Electronic Government of Social Security (IDIKA) SA the SMS required for the month of April, for the operation of the intangible prescription.
Utilizing the Electronic Document Handling System that it implements for the Ministry of Digital Government, the OTE Group created the necessary infrastructure for the operation of the implementation of digital signatures of the legislative acts for the cabinet. At the same time, it accelerates the process of distributing 150.000 digital signatures for executives of the Public Sector, in consultation with the Ministry.
For the development of a psychological support service for citizens in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, by the Ministry of Health and the First Psychiatric Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the OTE Group provided the 10306 hotline free of charge and carried out a special implementation for the management and routing calls to up to 100 remote mental health professionals. COSMOTE subscriber calls to 10306 are free.
In addition, from April 8, it provides free access, free of charge (zerorating) data from mobile networks, to the digital platforms used by the Ministry of Education and Religions for distance education in schools.
The OTE Group offered free SMS for 3 months to the Business and Health Center (KEPY) of EKAB, as through text messages the hospitals of the territory send data to the Administrations of the 133 Health Formations of the whole country, ensuring the timely and valid information of the policy.
Finally, the OTE Group implemented the Ministry's plan for 13033 regarding the service of its subscribers, with free SMS for their exceptional movement, in the framework of the protection measures against the Covid-19 coronavirus.
