Bill Gates : Like today 36 years ago, man - technology presented to the public the first Windows.
ΉNovember 10, 1983, when the "emblematic" co-founder of Microsoft presented at the Helmsley Palace Hotel in New York, the first version of the popular operating system of the American company, which today has a market share of 80-90%.
It was not a complete operating system then - in the sense we know it today - but rather a graphical interface, which was, in essence, an extension of MS-DOS.
Microsoft started working on a related product, called "Interface Manager", as early as September 1981. Early versions used MS Word-style menus, which changed to pull down menus in 1982.
Windows 1.0, when it was finally released, had a separate graphical interface with drop-down menus, tiled windows, mouse support and the ability to "run" separate applications at the same time, which could even work together.
Useful apps such as Calendar, Clock, Painting, clipboard or a text editor have emerged as innovations of the era, being one of the first to gain consumer interest in Microsoft's ever-growing operating system.
According to Gates' reference to the event, Windows would be released in 1984, but its commercial launch did not take place until November 20, 1985.
