Η ASUS proceeded to the official unveiling of the new powerful gaming smartphone ROG Phone 5.
ΤASUS's new Gaming Smartphone will be available in three versions ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate with the differences focusing mainly on the size of RAM and storage space, but also on some small extras.
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 follows the same design line as the previous generation, although it is slightly larger due to the larger screen. The bezels are smaller and once again the front camera is traditionally mounted on the top edge and not in a notch or hole.
The two stereo speakers are located opposite the screen, there are 9 AirTrigger buttons on the sides (+2 extra in the Pro and Ultimate versions), a new cooling system that directs heat away from the areas where you put your hands when playing, while at the back there is dot-matrix in the basic version, tiny color screen PMOLED in Pro and monochrome PMOLED in Ultimate for displaying notifications.
In technical terms, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 has a 6.78 '' AMOLED E4 FHD + screen with up to 144Hz image refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB / 12GB / 16GB / 18GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB / 256GB / 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, in-display fingerprint sensor d tuned by Dirac with built-in DAC (24-bit Hi-Res audio), four microphones, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dualGPS, 5G, Android 11 operating system with ROG UI and 6000mAh (2x 3000mAh) battery with 65W charger (included in the package). On the back there is a triple camera 64MP Sony IMX686 + 13MP ultrawide + 5MP macro and on the front selfie camera 24MP.
Prices and availability
- The ASUS ROG Phone 5 will be available in Europe in March at prices €799 (8GB + 128GB), €899 (12GB + 256GB) and €999 (16GB + 512GB).
- The ASUS ROG Phone 5 Pro will be released in April at a price €1199 (16GB + 512GB)
- The ASUS ROG Phone 5 Ultimate will be released in limited numbers in May and at a price €1299 (18GB + 512GB).
