According to Zhang Guoquan, the two-year-old Xiaomi Mi 6, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 and Mi Note 3 will soon be upgraded to Android 9 Pie.
ΕYesterday, a Xiaomi engineer, Zhang Guoquan, announced on his personal page on the social network Weibo, the progress that the company has made in preparing its devices for their upgrade to Android 9 Pie.
According to Zhang Guoquan, the two-year-old Xiaomi Mi 6, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 and Mi Note 3 will soon be upgraded to Android 9 Pie. Also, the Xiaomi Mi 6, one of the most expensive phones of the company which was released in 2017, will get the "Game Turbo", a special GPU drier that helps increase the performance of the device as we play games.
The Xiaomi engineer did not say when the devices will receive the update or if it will be available on all three models at the same time. All we know is that they will get Android 9 Pie and quite soon.
Xiaomi is doing what it can to bridge the gap between itself and the top smartphone makers. Yesterday, the company announced its next flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 9, which is available for sale only for 393 €. The company also introduced the most economical version of the Mi 9, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, which is the first device with a Snapdragon 712 Soc. With the release of budget smartphones, and the regular software updates for its devices, Xiaomi is gaining more and more ground in the market.
Recently, Xiaomi won the first place as the best manufacturer of smartphones in India. At the same time, it has a large share of the European market, conquering it first place in Ukraine, and other small markets.
