Did you think you saw it all? If so, then MagicScroll will change that.
ΜCreated by research team at Queen's University in Canada, MagicScroll is the "first folding touch screen table". Inspired by the papyri, this original tablet features a 7,5 ″ 2K flexible screen, wrapped in a XNUMXD printed cylinder that houses the device's brain.
The rotating wheels at each end of the cylinder allow you to move through the information on the screen. The screen can also be unrolled to function like a traditional tablet. Researchers say it is "much easier to hold with one hand than an iPad" and can fit in a pocket when wrapped.
You can see the MagicScroll in action in the video below.
"We were inspired by the design of the papyri, as their shape allows for a more natural, uninterrupted experience of great visual dates," said Dr. Roel Vertegaal, head of research. "Another source of inspiration was Rolodex, which we used to store business cards."
The design makes it easy to browse large lists and websites, he added.
