Youtube is upgrading its Security Policies, while at the same time introducing a new system, which will punish creators who do not follow the rules.
Βof course it took almost 10 years to proceed with such a big upgrade but better late than never.
In recent years, Youtube has occupied a lot of people negatively. Discussions about how the platform works are rekindled at every opportunity. A recent example is research conducted by the Tech University of Texas, according to which Youtube is responsible for the spread of the theory of Flat Earth.
From February 25, we will see the biggest change in terms of violations of the regulations, by the creators. According to the regulation, if a channel violates a regulation for the first time, Youtube will give it a warning, without any punishment, apart from the removal of inappropriate material. More specifically, the rules and penalties that all creators should take seriously are the following:
- At the first warning, the channel "freezes" for a week. This means that the user will neither be able to upload a video nor stream.
- In the second warning, the channel "freezes" for two weeks.
- In the third warning, Youtube has every right to close the channel.
According to the statistics compiled by the platform, 94% of the users who received the first warning, did not proceed with a second offense and complied with the regulations. The platform also adds new alerts for channel owners to help creators understand when or why their channel was removed.
