Xiaomi: Recorded a staggering 430,6% increase in tablet sales on an annual basis.

Η Xiaomi sent 340.000 tablets in the 2nd quarter of 2019, recording an astonishing increase by 430,6% on an annual basis.

ΜWith smartphones getting bigger and bigger screens every year, tablets are not as popular as they used to be. Also, with the advent of folding devices with folding screens, the situation is even worse for the tablet market. Nevertheless, in the second quarter of 2, it did quite well in China. IDC reports that the tablet market in the country grew by 2019% on an annual basis in the second quarter of 2,3, with Xiaomi making an astonishing run.

Apple is a leader in the Chinese tablet market with the iPad Air being very popular with consumers. IDC even notes that the Air is even more popular than the iPad Mini. The tech giant from Cupertino shipped 2,33 million pieces in the second quarter of 2, up 2019% year-on-year and with a huge market share of 0,7% over the same period.

In second place is Huawei with 1,54 million handsets and therefore continues its impressive growth in the region. The Chinese telecommunications giant gained 27,4% market share, recording steady growth of 17,1% on an annual basis, led by the flagship of the MediPad M6 series. IDC notes that Huawei's dual-brand strategy is particularly successful in China's low-income cities, which are helping it grow steadily.

Xiaomi climbed to third place, with a jump in sales in the second quarter of 2. The major smartphone maker shipped 2019 tablets during this period, recording an astonishing increase of 340.000% on an annual basis. This may come as no surprise, given the fact that Xiaomi's Mi Pad 430,6 series was announced at the end of the second quarter of 4 and is not reflected in the missions that represent the same period last year. The Mi Pad 2 seems to be doing well, helping the company reach third place.

Lenovo is in fourth place, down one place from last year. Its tablet shipments to China also fell 33% year-on-year. Finally, in fifth place is Microsoft. The maker of Windows made a very good quarter by sending about 200.000 units which is an increase of 68% from the same period last year. IDC adds that its partnership with JD and other promotions have helped the company increase its shipments in the last quarter.
