ΠAll homeowners who have a phone that supports wireless charging continue to do so, either out of habit or because they do not want to spend money on a wireless charging station. However, according to Xiaomi this will change as manufacturers will soon start forcing us to innovate.
We have already seen many devices that do not have ports for wired charging and data transfer. But these are still in the prototype stage, and the sad experience of Meizu Zero shows that users are not yet ready for such a step. But that does not change the fact that manufacturers are seriously considering the release of cordless phones in the market.
And according to Xiaomi, from next year will come the first commercially available versions of smartphones without a charging port.
The company believes that the lack of such devices in the market is in no way a consequence of the rejection of such a step by users. The main reason for this is that wireless charging technology is not yet perfected. There are many complaints about the speed at which batteries are charged with wireless charging, so users prefer the traditional cable charging.
Also, we must not rule out the fact that there are still very few public places where it is possible to wirelessly charge a smartphone. It is not the most useful for a user to carry his wireless charger with him.
However, as wireless charging technology evolves, manufacturers will be increasingly persistent in offering devices that support it, and Xiaomi warns us that smartphones and gadgets (smartbands, smartwatches, headphones, etc.) that can only be charged wirelessly will multiply rapidly in the coming years and will become the new reality.
