Η Xiaomi has patented me Diploma of Patent some new designs for Smartphone with pop-up cameras in CNIPA (National Intellectual Property Organization of China).
ΠIn particular, Xiaomi has received approval for three different designs related to smartphones with pop-up cameras. All of these designs have the same design of the pop-up mechanism on the top of the device, but with a different total number of cameras it hosts.
This time, in fact, this pop-up mechanism that is at the top of the device is quite large and occupies most of the top of the devices (60-70%).
In all the designs we see that there are two Selfie cameras in front, and the difference is in the rear cameras. In the same mechanism that we have the Selfie cameras on the front of the mechanism, while on the back are also placed the other cameras of the device.
So, we have three designs where the first one contains two Selfie cameras on the front and two main cameras on the back, in the second design we have two Selfie cameras on the front and three main cameras on the back, and finally on the third design we have two Selfie cameras on the front and five main cameras on the back.
We're not sure why Xiaomi is trying to fit up to seven cameras in a single pop-up unit, probably because the company wants to make the phone look cleaner, more sleek.
However, we do not like the above design at all and we consider it an exaggeration to have such a large pop-up mechanism in a Smartphone.
Of course, many of the patents often remain in the drawers of companies - something we hope to do with the above designs that are completely unsightly.
