Xiaomi has been making headlines in China recently as it looks set to focus on developing its own operating system, electric cars and several new chips

Today, a well-known tech blogger, Digital Chat Station, revealed to us today that a certain manufacturer is preparing to officially reveal within the next year : its own operating system, a car and new chipsets. Although o DCS does not explicitly state the name of the manufacturer, all signs point to her Xiaomi as the likely candidate if we take into account the many other leaks and rumors that have been floating around the internet recently.

Smart Electric Cars

It's already been known for a long time that Xiaomi will enter the automotive space as well, and the company is rumored to officially launch its own line of electric cars next year.

We even saw him recently Lei Jun, co-founder and CEO of Xiaomi, to drive the company's first electric car with a team of technicians in a remote area of China.

The same car has been seen several times in camouflage on the streets of Beijing, and everything shows that Xiaomi has managed to stay within the time frame it has set, and very soon it is ready to take the next step with the official presentation of its first electric car.

Proprietary Operating System

But apart from electric cars, the Xiaomi is also set to develop its own operating system, which is expected to debut in electric cars and many other smart devices. This operating system is most likely to be called “MIOS", since the company has already registered a Domain with the same name. This move signals Xiaomi's ambition to have more control over the ecosystem of hardware and software it markets, a strategy that has been quite successful with other tech giants as well.

New Chipsets

In addition, Xiaomi is diligently working on creating its own chips. Although the company has so far not launched any new SoC of its own (System on a Chip) after the Xiaomi 5C Pinecone, however remained committed to developing new chips.

In the last couple of years, Xiaomi has released several small chips that it has developed itself, including the Surge P1, P2, C1 and C2. These chips have shown impressive performance improvements, especially in areas such as imaging and charging technology. Xiaomi's focus on chip development underscores the company's commitment to innovation and reducing dependence on external suppliers.

All of the above shows that Xiaomi is following the same path that many major technology manufacturers are following to secure greater control, innovation and independence in their products. This effort requires strong support and investment on various fronts, from hardware to software, as well as research and development.
