Mafter its revelation MIUI 12 in April last year, the Xiaomi had published a list of suitable devices that will receive the update. However, on this list the company had to remove four devices due to compatibility and performance issues.
In this list of devices that will not receive an update to MIUI 12, are included Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. Naturally, this "exclusion" had disappointed the owners of the above devices, as the Redmi 6 and 6A had only received one major upgrade to Android and two upgrades to MIUI, while Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 had not received any upgrade to Andriod and only one upgrade to MIUI.
Although Xiaomi had stated that these four devices mentioned above would not receive any updates on MIUI 12, now the company seems to have succumbed to pressure from its owners Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, and made the upgrade available at MIUI 12 for these devices.
So according to one recent post made by the company in community forums, its fixed version MIUI 12 for Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A is now available for download. However, the company recommends do not install the build on these devices due to performance issues.

In our opinion, it is USEFUL this upgrade since it will only offer problems in the performance of the devices, and we are really surprised with the purpose of this decision of Xiaomi.
