Most importantly, it will be able to provide an answer to competitors that have already started producing foldable phones in the market.
Xiaomi does not hide the fact that it is preparing to present a mobile phone with a foldable screen. Therefore, it is not surprising that patents appear that describe the features and type of foldable phones manufactured by Xiaomi. It is possible that the company has followed the example of the models on the market and is inspired by Samsung's ideas.
The latter has three models on the market and has the best sales. We do not know if it will be in its immediate plans but Xiaomi has already filed a patent for such a mobile phone with the Chinese National Intellectual Property Office.
The sketches from our patent papers show a foldable smartphone where the flexible screen folds into the body. On the outside, there is an additional screen with a diagonal of 4,6 inches with a fairly huge frame. The main camera on the back is three sensors.
In contrast with Galaxy z fold2, the Chinese company has no holes or notches in the screen. Provides a vertical bar on the right side of the screen. which is supposed to be intended for the front camera unit and various sensors. Another detail is that the flexible screen appears to have a recess inside the case. This solution will protect the screen from damage if you put the smartphone "open" with the main screen down.
We do not know when Xiaomi plans to introduce its first foldable smartphone as there is no information at all. It looks like it will happen next year at some point. The work has been going on for a long time - since last March - without any sample of work.
