Η Xiaomi has filed a new patent for another folding smartphone, in fact its screens are folded in two places in figure G.
Εbut n Xiaomi presented us with prototype of a folding smartphone in 2019, however this device was never commercially available.
Since then, we have seen Xiaomi occasionally file various patents for new foldable Smartphones, none of which have yet reached the final stage of production.
So today, Xiaomi has filed a new patent for another foldable smartphone, whose screens are folded in two Z-shaped points.
According to an information coming from LetsGoDigital , the company filed this new patent in WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office), and was approved last week.
In the documents submitted to WIPO, 16 sketches of the device are also included. So looking at these sketches, the device looks like a regular Smartphone from the front, when folded. On the front we can immediately see that on the screen there is a hole for the Selfie camera, however, on the back of the device is folded the main screen.
When the device is unfolded, a large screen is immediately exposed on the other side of the separate external screen shown from the front. This large screen has a two-hinged mechanism, which means that the device has a total of three screen areas, with the first being on the opposite side and used as an external screen, while the other two are an extension of the same that fold inwards. on the back of the device.
However, since the back cover of the device consists entirely of a large screen, the only camera that appears to be present in the device is the selfie camera, and that can be used as the main rear camera when the device is unfolded.
Beneath the main / external display are most of the critical components of the device, with the SIM card and volume keys on the right side. On the right side of the device there is also an extra large button, which is probably made for the unfolding mechanism.
At the bottom of the device we see a USB port type C, framed by a speaker grille on both sides, which are also present on the top of the device.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Although, the device is quite futuristic and may at some point become available in the coming years as the technology evolves further, but for now, we find it almost impossible to build, mainly due to the size and weight of the device.
This device looks more like a foldable tablet with a basic camera, rather than a Smartphone.
