Xiaomi: New concept smartphone without keys or ports and with 3D Waterfall screen that expands on all four sides

Today the plans of a young man were revealed Smartphone Concept from Xiaomian, which is equipped with Camera under screen (UDC) and Waterfall screen.

ΣEarlier this year, Xiaomi unveiled plans for a new Concept Smartphone, which has rounded screen  and in fact it is without ports and physical keys.

Xiaomi has already received the relevant patent for this device, but also for an additional similar model.

Xiaomi's first patented smartphone is shown in the image below (Model A), while the second device patented by Xiaomi, also has about the same screen that extends to the four corners (Model B.), and below we will deal with this second device.

New Concept Smartphone from Xiaomi with camera under screen and Waterfall screen.

It was in early 2021 when the Xiaomi Mobile Software filed a new patent with China's National Intellectual Property Administration in Beijing. This futuristic Xiaomi Smartphone was designed by Zhao Ming. In the documentation published on 6 July 2021 contained in total 8 sketches of this device showing it from all sides.

As you can see below, the device has an extremely advanced design, with the screen extending to the corners. Although this design seems to be very elegant, it will be technically much more difficult to build. Just try to curve a piece of paper in the same way, and you will immediately understand that it is almost impossible.

However, this patent shows that Xiaomi is trying to apply such a curved screen to a smartphone. Of course, Xiaomi is not the only manufacturer exploring these possibilities. And the Samsung has also previously applied for a patent for a smartphone with 3D screen extending to the four rounded sides.

As you can see above, the entire front of this Xiaomi smartphone is covered by a screen, which in fact is Waterfall type with sharp rounded corners. There are no visible corners or notches - not even on the camera screen. In fact, this rounded screen extends to a large part and to all sides of the device.

In this way, this part of the screen on the sides of the device can be used to display general information such as: battery status, network status information, etc... Its possibility can also be added  lateral touchs, replacing physical keys with virtual touch keys.

Η Selfie front camera will be placed below the screen (UDC), as Xiaomi is one of the manufacturers that has been developing this new camera technology for quite some time. The company has now arrived at version 3.0 of the UDC camera and is expected to introduce her first smartphone with a camera under the screen later this year.

It is also expected next month from Samsung, to present us the new Galaxy z fold 3, which will probably have a camera under the screen, and will become the first folding smartphone in the world with a Selfie camera under the screen.

As we said above, another striking fact that this Xiaomi patent reveals is that this device does not have some visible ports and physical keys.

The back of the device is just as controversial as the front. We see that this device has a specially designed camera system on the back, as we have never seen before. Unfortunately, it is not clear from the brief documentation that has been submitted, for the specifications of the cameras that it will have.

The main camera shown in the drawings will most likely be equipped with a large lens and a high-resolution sensor. It was recently announced that Xiaomi will be the first manufacturer to use the new sensors Samsung ISOcell in 192 and 200MP.

Xiaomi was also the first Smartphone maker to incorporate a camera in 108MP on its devices. The same sensor is now used in various models of the company and may be used in this model as well.

Just below the main camera is a second square Module with rounded corners, in which we see a small hole. But it remains unclear whether it is an additional camera or something else. In any case, it does not appear to be a secondary screen like the one we saw in My 11 Ultra .

We find it almost impossible Xiaomi to release this smartphone. Usually these Concept Smartphones are mainly used by companies for prestige, to show us what a manufacturer is capable of doing, and we rarely see these devices go into mass production.
