MIUI: It is the best Android Skin on the market, but unfortunately with many problems on various devices

While MIUI is one of the best skins available in the Android world, there is one very important issue that Xiaomi needs to address immediately, and that is the complete inconsistency between its devices.

Τthe first quarter of 2021 Xiaomi secures third place in global Smartphone shipments, and is now within walking distance of Apple, which is in second place.

This is definitely amazing news for the company, especially considering that Xiaomi started its journey as OEM Developer on android and not as a Smartphone maker, creating ROMs with its own Skin called MIUI, and continues to power all smartphones manufactured by the company to date.

The MIUI initially gained the reputation of being someone Apple iOS clone, due to the copycat icons and the lack of an application drawer, but gradually managed to transform into a unique Skin, perhaps one of the best we have seen to date.

Since then, "copies" of Apple's iOS have been greatly reduced, although MIUI Skin still continues to provoke divisive views about its appearance.

Xiaomi has continued to bring many interesting or easy-to-use features to MIUI over the years, and we have seen many new features gradually come in, such as the choice of accessibility (Quick Ball), many downloadable system issues, system management applications (for cleaning the storage space etc.), dual applications and one-handed operation.

More recently, MIUI has been added Super wallpapers, function Magic Clones in the camera application and some new privacy features (eg clipboard protection, secure photo sharing) and many other interesting features and new features.

However, despite the very interesting features of MIUI, there is a very important issue that Xiaomi needs to address immediately, and that is the complete inconsistency that exists between its devices and the various Brand Name it has (Redmi – Poco).

O C Scott Brown by Android Authority, examined the Poco F3 last month and called the special version of MIUI for the Poco, especially problematic (buggy) and messy. The list of problems he encountered was particularly worrying especially for a smartphone that is available at 2021.

He found many problems, such as accidental restarts, disappearances / reappearances of alerts, and even problems switching from 120Hz to 60Hz. There were also problems with the animations, with applications crashing for no reason, with the keys in the text notifications, which constantly open the notification itself instead of performing the action indicated on the key, but also a lot of bloatware and a lot of ads available in Skin.

Occasionally, many of these issues were present in the early MIUI early releases immediately after the device was officially released, however, even after several OTA updates to date on MIUI, they failed to resolve many of these issues. found in Poco F3.

These troubles should definitely be eliminated in the next upgrades that Xiaomi will make in MIUI.

Corresponding problems were found in Mi 9T Pro, which were finally corrected several months after the device was released.

Unfortunately, this general inconsistency still affects some of Xiaomi Smartphones even more than six months after the official release of the devices, and a classic example is Redmi Note 9, who still has various problems for months.

More specifically, at Redmi Note 9 There are problems such as the camera freezing, which freezes for a few seconds each time you take consecutive photos, preventing you from taking more shots. Also, the screen turns on every few seconds while playing music or podcasts, the Instagram app shuts down after viewing consecutive stories, and the response to messages via the notification bar does not work properly, losing the message you just composed.

The device has received several updates since it was first released, but unfortunately these updates have not fixed all the bugs that have been recorded, and have sometimes introduced new issues.

Fortunately, these problems with MIUI do not exist on all of the company's devices, and in most of them, any problems that are found are solved almost immediately with OTA upgrades. The only major concerns we have are usually focusing on bloatware and ads, with the latter being an issue once again.

It is not clear what could be the cause of this inconsistency, but it certainly has nothing to do with the hardware of the devices. After all Poco F3 has about the same characteristics as  Redmi Note 10, and on this device the version of MIUI that the device is wearing is well optimized and addresses any of the issues listed in Poco F3 or some other significant bugs or issues.

Whether it's a lack of testing, optimization, or other factor, it's time for Xiaomi to ensure it provides more consistent and hassle-free software across all of its devices, and we know that Xiaomi is capable of delivering a relatively smooth, error-free user experience. Her own Skin.

Xiaomi has indeed done an amazing job with its own Skin (MIUI), offering features and functions not found in other skins released by other OEM Smartphone manufacturers, but should not rest on its laurels.

Even some OEM Smartphone makers who have traditionally had a bad reputation for their software have now started to have a strong presence in Android in the last two years, and a typical example is Oppo and Vivo, who even announced their commitment to long-term operating system updates on their devices.

OPPO

We recently saw her LG and HMD to announce up to three years of updates on Android for their own Smartphones. Samsung was the first company other than Google to announce its commitment to three years of updates to Android, and this is the company that Xiaomi should be concerned about.

Samsung, therefore, promises three-year upgrades to its flagships and selected low-cost smartphones, dating back to the time the series was released. Galaxy S10 and Note 10. With this move, Samsung is giving its device owners the incentive to stay on it, making it more difficult for other OEM manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, to win over its customers.

Of course, Xiaomi also offers updates to MIUI on older devices (up to 3 years after their release), but these are often not updated with the latest version of Android, which exposes devices to the risk of problems due to compatibility of applications.

In any case, Xiaomi is clearly capable of offering much more to the Android world through MIUI which is an amazing Skin, but it is enough to ensure that it will offer the same user experience which will be problem-free on all its devices. , and of course for a longer period of time.

I bought the redme note 10 4 months ago. The power button started burning and turned off the phone without turning it on again. I sent it for service. They fixed the problem and installed a miui. I took it in my hands and since then it hangs and its functions are for throwing. Never again Xiaomi. Unfortunately it turned out very soft… .. The money I gave is great
