These Beta versions give them the opportunity to explore the newly introduced APIs and test the changes that have been made to the system applications, ensuring that everything works properly, to be delivered to the end user when the new update is finally made public.
Similarly, Xiaomi also provides access to the latest version of Android, so that they can adapt all MIUI applications and Framework to the platform update.
That's why Xiaomi has started looking for users who have the Mi 9, and who will become BETA Testers, to test Xiaomi's new MIUI operating system based on Android Q.
At announcement posted by Xiaomi on Weibo, warns that this beta update is not recommended for users who need their device for everyday use, as the update is not stable and installed services and applications may stop working due to unwanted errors.
The new BETA version of MIUI on Android Q also contains some known bugs, such as reboots, accidental camera errors, and unresponsive volume controls. Therefore, it is absolutely clear that the update is not intended for all users at this stage.
Η Xiaomi, except My 9, plans to gradually expand the constants Android Q-based MIUI versions and in Mi 8, Mi Mix 3, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro and some variants of these devices in 4st quarter of 2019.
