Her new patent Xiaomi reveals a Smartphone type clamshell with rotating cameras.
Το Motorola Razr (2019) led the market for foldable phones in a different direction from the classic design clamshell. Instead of a device that is essentially the size of a tablet that can be folded to the size of a regular smartphone, clamshell phones offer extra portability, as when folded they are much smaller in size.
Η Samsung started its own version of designing a clamshell with Galaxy z flip, and now it seems that Xiaomi plans to do the same.
The LetsGoDigital and TigerMobiles unveiled a new patent filed by Xiaomi in November 2019 in Beijing. The 48 images included in this patent show a folding telephone with a clamshell design.
The real interest in these designs focuses on the camera unit. This device has a total of four camera slots on the front of the device and one on the back. In fact, this Module on which the cameras are mounted, can be rotated by changing the device.
This is a fascinating idea, but it is not entirely new. The Samsung Galaxy A80 uses a similar receiving system that rotates on its horizontal axis.

The images in this patent show the device to have a flexible screen without Notches or Notch. The phone folds inwards, protecting the screen like the Motorola Razr. However, there is no indication of a secondary display and the chin with the rotating camera unit is at the top, making the phone look like a Razr upside down.
Its sources LetsGoDigital claim that this Xiaomi model is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2020. If this patent turns into a real device we will find out soon we believe it from the company itself.
