Today, the world leader in technology Xiaomi, unveiled its latest innovation in the field of heat dissipation, called Loop LiquidCool Technology.
ΑThis new technology is inspired by cooling solutions used in the aerospace industry. Technology LiquidCool loop uses a network of capillaries that draws coolant and directs it directly to the heat source, evaporating it and then efficiently dissipating heat to a colder area of the appliance, until the coolant condenses again and is directed again through a one-way back to the closed cooling duct.
Compared to conventional steam chamber solutions (steam chambers), this new technology has double the cooling capabilities and is the most efficient cooling solution for smartphones that has been presented to date. THE Xiaomi aims to bring this new technology LiquidCool loop in its products during second half of 2022.
Loop LiquidCool Technology
This new technology features a large annular circuit of heat dissipating capillaries consisting of an evaporator (evaporator), a condenser (Socket), a replacement chamber (refill chamber) as well as capillary tubing (liquid pipes) containing gas and liquid.
The circuit is mounted above the heat sources, and the evaporator has a refrigerant that evaporates into gas when the smartphone is under heavy workload and develops temperatures. Then the gas and the air flow generated diffuse into the condenser, where the gas is condensed again into a liquid. These liquids are absorbed and collected through tiny fibers in the refill chamber - which refills the evaporator - making it essentially a self-sustaining cooling system similar to the circuits we see in air conditioners (air condition) using freon.
Although this new technology uses the same method as liquid cooling VC, the new and innovative way of cooling that uses this closed circuit, makes a significant difference in the efficiency of heat dissipation and in the efficient cooling of the devices.
As conventional VC cooling systems used to date do not have separate channels for gases and liquids flowing in the circuit, hot gases and cold liquids mix and block each other for efficient cooling, especially under high workload.
This ring-shaped pump has a special design with a gas hose, which significantly reduces the air passage resistance by 30%, allowing the smoother flow of steam to be generated, while also increasing the maximum heat transfer capacity up to 100%.
One-way traffic is the key to heat dissipation
To ensure high-efficiency one-way traffic, the implementation of a Tesla valve structure inside the refill chamber is vital. THE Tesla valve is a one-way valve that allows liquid to pass through the evaporator while preventing gases from moving in the wrong direction. This allows for the highest efficiency in gas / liquid circulation throughout the system.
In a custom Xiaomi MIX 4, the original steam room (VC) was replaced with this technology circuit LiquidCool loop, and during a 30 minute in-game test Genshin impact, with video settings at maximum 60 fps, this impressive cooling system kept the appliance below its maximum temperature 47,7 ℃ and the processor was against 8,6 ℃ lower than a standard cooling version with VC.
Thanks to the one-way circulation of refrigerants (gas & liquid), gas-liquid separation, low heat resistance gas pipes and special type valve Tesla, it becomes possible to use this technology LiquidCool loop in any type of interior design of a device without problems in the layout of the space.
For example, a loop of LiquidCool loop which is square in shape, will allow more space for the battery, camera unit and many other critical components that a Smartphone has, without limiting the internal layout that a Smartphone needs to function effectively.
