ΧThe first 'Chinese International Import Expo' has started in Shanghai. During the trade and investment forum, Xiaomi Lei Jun spoke about his company. In an effort to make Xiaomi a global name, he said cross-border trade has benefited local consumers (apparently due to the need for R&D to catch up with other global brands), which is good for investors and consumers alike.
Lei Jun said that Xiaomi was founded in 2010 and started moving out of China in 2014. After so many years of efforts, the advantages of this move were obvious. In the second quarter of 2018, Xiaomi's international operations increased by 150% and entered 82 foreign markets. In 25 markets the company is in the top five. In this regard, Lei Jun said: "We can say that we are still a new multinational company."
Lei Jun stated his strategy for the global market: "Xiaomi's strategy is to bring high quality products to foreign consumers at good prices while training local groups in the area. "For example, 95% of our products in Indonesia are locally produced and even in India and Indonesia we have invested in dozens of new businesses to improve the development of the mobile phone industry."
