Xiaomi reveals through a video, how it managed to achieve the wireless charging of a 4.500mAh battery in just 40 minutes.
Τthe new My 10 Ultra from Xiaomi, from the first moment it was officially unveiled, not only impressed for the amazing fast wired charging at 120W that has, but also for the incredible wireless fast charging at 50W.
This is a feature that most smartphones do not support so far. So now, our company reveals through a video, how it managed to achieve the wireless charging of a battery of 4.500mAh in just 40 minutes.
According to the video, the crucial aspect that allowed Xiaomi to achieve wireless charging in 50w, was the change of bit arrangement between the coil and the battery. In other words, charge pumps, which are essentially DC-DC converters used to increase or decrease the voltage, and unlike the traditional device that places them in series, Xiaomi placed them parallel to each other.
The biggest advantage of this parallel device was that the new charging pump system (DC-DC converters), is more energy efficient. Conventional pumps are efficient only 97%, so when placed in a row, their efficiency drops to 94%. In the case of parallel pumps, their total energy efficiency reaches 98,6%. The difference may not seem big, but this small change can also significantly increase the thermal efficiency of the circuit.
The materials used in the connectors between the battery and the motherboard were made of a highly conductive graphene-based material that also improved performance. In addition, the battery itself was split into two halves of 2.250mAh, to maximize charging rates.
Xiaomi has also improved coil performance with a new multi-strand winding technology used to weave wire into 5-layer coils.
In short, Xiaomi has used many clever technologies to achieve this incredible record of wireless in its new flagships.
