Today in China, the Lei Jun, founder - president and CEO Xiaomi, confirmed that the company will launch the mass production of its electric vehicles, during first half of 2024.
Εif indeed the h Xiaomi, this means that we will see the first vehicle of the company to be presented earlier than the initial schedule that was announced earlier this year.
Moreover, the Lei Jun also revealed that the new subsidiary, was registered as Xiaomi Motors, in Beijing from September 1 and its first factory will be based in the province Beijing Yizhuang.
Xiaomi's first electric car is expected to be a model that can compete with the high-end models of other companies, but at much friendlier prices.
Of course, the vehicles will initially be available exclusively for the Chinese market, and later the company is expected to expand the distribution network to other countries, such as Europe.
