After the announcement of his arrival We MIX, Xiaomi today announces that it is preparing to launch a new chipset.
ΑThis of course will not be the first time that the company will launch its own SoC, as in the past (in 2017) it had presented the Surge S1 which in fact fed the We are 5C, and as the company claimed, its own SoC was more powerful than Qualcomm Snapdragon 625.
According to a new poster released today by Xiaomi on Weibo, a new company SoC is ready to be presented on 29 March, at the same event that took place for its launch Mi 11 Pro Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite and the new Mi Mix.
Xiaomi has not yet disclosed any other information about this SoC, but it is fairly safe to assume that the upcoming chip will not be something innovative.
It could be either a standalone processor for Smartphones that will offer equivalent performance to a current-generation chip from Qualcomm or an additional chip that will be integrated and paired with one of the existing or a brand new Snapdragon chipset.
It may well be an ISP chip that will help in the field of photography and video, but it remains to be learned from the company itself all its features and characteristics once it is officially announced.
