  • Artifacts such as lens shading, hue shift near saturation and color fringing

Epilogue and conclusions

The Xiaomi 13t gave a decent performance in the camera test from the DxOMark for a device in its class, but a number of issues were seen that prevented it from securing a place among the best in the rankings, including chromatic aberrations, slightly unnatural skin tone performance, vignetting and contrast issues in backlit scenes.

That said, the device offered overall good exposure, a fairly wide dynamic range, and a fairly good compromise between texture retention and noise reduction, especially in bright light and under typical indoor conditions.

In video mode, the Xiaomi 13t showed good results but also left some room for improvement. Unlike its predecessor, the 13T records video in HDR mode, offering a wide dynamic range in most conditions.

Moreover, the level of detail captured was quite high compared to other devices in the Premium segment. Accurate white balance in bright light and effective video stabilization make the 13T a good choice for recording landscape shots.

However, chromatic aberrations were visible in low-light footage, as was some autofocus faltering, and while stabilization was effective overall, frame-to-frame sharpness differences were often noticeable when recording moving scenes.
