The Xiaomi 12Lite was officially presented a few months ago and today the DxOMark proceed to camera evaluation
The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G is the base model available in the 12 series. While the rear camera setup is similar to the others in the series, it does come with three different sensors, which are mainly responsible for the differences in image quality.
Overall, the device behaved well in good lighting conditions. Target exposure and color rendition were pleasing in outdoor situations in both stills and video, but image detail was quite low. However, indoors, and especially in low-light conditions, image noise was often visible on some objects.
Its price is about half of the top model of the series, and its camera performance 12 Lites 5G it was pretty average overall, even when we judge it against other devices in the high-end segment with prices from $400 to $599. The lack of a telephoto lens and the limited capabilities of the wide-angle lens compared to other devices in the category were the reasons why it did not receive a better score in device performance.

- Accurate target exposure in most conditions in photography, with smooth transitions in video
- Pleasant white balance and color rendering in most conditions
- Accurate color performance in outdoor and indoor video
Disadvantages (-)
- Occasionally the autofocus is on the wrong target, with shallow depth of field
- Visible low-light noise in photos and videos
- Low level of detail in low light conditions, with visible motion blur
- Occasional appearance of ringing, and color quantization
- In the bokeh, depth artifacts are visible, with an unnatural blur gradient
- Limited dynamic range in low light conditions in video
- Visible sharpness differences between video frames in all conditions
