Today we will make a report on the software updates that will be received by the devices of its series Xiaomi 12, but also the guarantee covered by the company, so we know what applies.
Exthes as is well known, was presented its global version Xiaomi 12 series, which consists of three models: the basic version of the Xiaomi 12, the Pro version and a cheaper model called 12 times.
During the presentation of the devices, the company also made some reports about updates which will receive the devices of the series in the software, but also the warranty to be covered by the company. So today we will say a little on this subject so that we know what is valid.
Android and security updates for the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X and how much warranty the series devices have
Let's start with the guarantee: and three models - Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X will enjoy two years official supplier's warranty. In addition, there is an additional feature, which is free repair of the screen once, within the first six months of purchasing the device.
There is an exception for the Xiaomi 12 Pro : This will be the only device in the series that will have extended warranty in more than 50 different countries. This means that we will be able to repair our Smartphone completely free of charge (within the two-year warranty) even if we are in one of these 50 countries.
Let us now turn to the subject of updates: first of all, only the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will come with the preinstalled Android 12, while the model 12 times will have the Android 11. This is therefore the starting point for supporting updates to the operating system.
The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will receive in total 3 updates on Android and therefore will get updates up to Android 15, while at the same time they will receive all the necessary updates to the Android security code for the next 4 years.
Unfortunately, the Xiaomi 12X is not mentioned in the company announcements, so we can assume that it will receive overall 2 updates on Android and will take up to Android 14, and the device will also have all necessary updates to the Android security code for the next 3 years.
As for general updates on MIUI nothing official has been said by Xiaomi and unfortunately it is not possible to say with certainty how many total updates each device will receive in MIUI.
But given Xiaomi's policy in recent years, perhaps its devices Xiaomi 12 series to receive a total of up to three new releases in MIUI, and have support that is up to MIUI 16 (or as the company calls it).
