ΌAs you can see, Xiaomi is creating its own ecosystem, constantly introducing new products that can communicate with each other. Its plans are to be able to integrate and operate all the smart home gadgets we have in a central hub.
This plan also includes the development of artificial intelligence, so as to extend gadget control methods. The hub for AIoT is the company's smart digital assistant, XiaoAI.
Xiaomi has released a series of smart speakers that have a built-in XiaoAI voice assistant. Sales of these smart speakers have been a huge commercial success, with sales exceeding 9 million units. The Chinese tech giant today unveiled an upgraded smart speaker, the XiaoAI touchscreen speaker, which is quite similar to Google Home Hub and Lenovo Smart Display.
The XiaoAI touchscreen speaker is very different from its predecessors in terms of design as it comes with a touch screen. The device has a 4-inch screen that initially displays a digital clock. According to Xiaomi's official Weibo account, the XiaoAI smart speaker acts as a smart central distributor for all your smart gadgets. It is not yet known exactly what interface standards Xiaomi's new smart speaker uses, but it is possible that it will use one of Qualcomm's latest docking modems to integrate multiple smart devices together.
From the screen of the device we can operate all the connected gadgets that we have at home. For example, the speaker will be able to show you who is ringing the smart doorbell, which means you can choose to open your smart door from the comfort of your own bed. It will also be able to play music and videos, and you will also be able to install various applications. The XiaoAI Smart Speaker inherently includes Tencent Q Music Library, while also providing compatibility with all music and video applications.
It also includes an interesting alarm clock, which can be set to play music or videos of your choice, with or without the alarm sound.
Xiaomi has not yet revealed details about the pricing and availability of the device. However, registrations for beta testing will begin on February 28.
