The financial results for the second quarter of the year 2021 announces today the WIND Hellas, in accordance with International Financial Standards (IFRS).
Κduring Second quarter 2021 η WIND has achieved revenue and subscription base growth while making significant progress on all of its strategic objectives.
Looking at the second half of the year, we are confident that we will continue to grow, as we take advantage of the growing demand for our services in a more favorable operating environment. Finally, we were very pleased to announce on August 16 its acquisition WIND Hellas from United Group, a transaction that we expect to be completed sometime in 2022. In the last five years we have implemented a multi-level transformation of our activities, significantly improving our infrastructure, our services, as well as the experience of our customers.
Joining an international telecommunications and information leader such as UG is an exciting milestone for us and will further enhance our capabilities and benefits for our customers., commented on the results of the second quarter of 2021, the President & CEO of WIND Hellas, Nasos Zarkalis.
Specifically:
Increase in revenue from services as a result of strong commercial performance
- Total revenue from services € 130,3m., increased by 5,3% compared to the same period of 2020
EBITDAaL performance reflects Vantage Towers transaction and revenue growth
- Custom EBITDAaL € 28,5m. with a margin of 21,9%
- Increase by € 2,4m. compared to the corresponding quarter of 2020, adjusted for the transaction with Vantage Towers as if it had happened on 1η January of 2020
Increase in subscribers compared to the second quarter of 2020
- + 5,2% mobile customers with a contract
- + 1,9% fixed customers with a contract
Continuous progress towards strategic priorities
- Accelerating population coverage 5G
- 10,9% increase in households with convergence services, a total of 267.000
- 2,8% increase in corporate clients, a total of 82.000
- 42,7% increase in fiber optic (NGA) customers
- Total fiber optic fabricated lines (NGA) One
- 11% of quarterly sales came from online channels
- Total investments of the last 12 months (until 30/6/21), € 94,5 million.
The company remains faithful to its strategy to increase its customer base, investing in the expansion of 5G mobile network and their penetration fiber optic networks (FFTC / FFTH), as well as the acceleration of its digital transformation.
