"Digital care": All useful information about vouchers - how to get it and who the beneficiaries are

ΤThe start of the voucher program "Digital Care" marks the signing of the relevant Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of Finance, Development and Investment, Education and Religions, Labor and Social Affairs and Digital Governance. THE "Digital Care»Will be included in National Recovery Plan and is one of the first programs at pan-European level to use its funds European Union Recovery Fund.

Building on the acquis of distance learning, the program invests 112 million for the purchase of technological equipment for pupils and students through a check system (voucher), aiming at the further digital transformation of education, the strengthening of the digital skills of the educational community and the empowerment of our vulnerable fellow citizens.

The program will make a significant contribution to achieving an inclusive digital education model, giving our young people the resources they need to achieve their goals and become creative, extroverted citizens. It is our absolute priority to ensure that participation in the digital transformation of education concerns every young person, including the most financially disadvantaged, to whom the program is addressed as a matter of priority.

Beneficiaries will be families with an equivalent family income of up to 6.000 euros, who will receive check 200 euros for every dependent child aged 4 to 24, who is studying in an educational structure in Greece. The program will be implemented through a special platform by "Information Society M.A.E.».

Within the next few days, the platform will be open for the submission of applications by suppliers who manufacture, distribute and resell technological equipment. A process of checking the equipment of the requesting suppliers will follow, in order to determine whether the minimum specifications set out in the Joint Ministerial Decision are met.

The platform will be open for the submission of applications by beneficiaries of the program in two phases. In the first phase, families who received their child allowance will be able to apply OPEC in the first income category per year 2020. The vast majority of program beneficiaries fall into this category. In the second phase, the platform will be open to other beneficiaries who meet the income and social criteria of the program.

Eligibility checks will be carried out mainly in an automated manner, by cross-referencing information from registries and from all the necessary information systems of public bodies, thus avoiding a time-consuming and bureaucratic process of checking documents for hundreds of thousands of applications.

The "Digital CareIs a very large-scale program both in terms of its budget and the number of beneficiaries, which amount to approximately 325.000 families with 560.000 young people. The number of devices that will be available through the program is very large: it is enough to consider the number tablets, laptops and desktops which is usually traded in the Greek market in total annually is around 900.000 Items. Considering the size of the program, from the first public announcement of the program until today, thorough and multi-level preparation has been done, in cooperation with the market, in order to place the necessary orders of eligible devices and to have sufficient technological equipment during the implementation of the action.

Also, a provision of law has been passed which creates the necessary institutional framework for the implementation of the program, the technical bulletin of the program has been specialized and included in the national Public Investment Program, until the country receives the resources from the Recovery Fund, and the detailed design of the program by "MAE Information SocietyIn collaboration with Y.PAI.TH. and with the valuable contribution of other bodies such as IDIKA, OPEC, AADE, the Interoperability Center of the Ministry of Digital Government, ITYE-Diofantos and EDYTE.
