Successfully continues Vodafone Device & Accessories Recycling Program implemented since 2008 in collaboration with the Hellenic Scout Corps (PCT).
Σthroughout Greece the 13 years of implementation of the award-winning environmental program, have been collected by the Scouts and delivered to the Vodafone more than 68.000 devices and accessories, contributing to the creation of a more sustainable world.
The aim of the Program is to contribute to the protection of the environment through process of recycling devices, mobile & fixed telephony accessories. For this reason, special recycling bins have been distributed Vodafone at 350 Scout Systems that are active throughout Greece and every year this material is updated wherever and whenever there is a need.
More specifically, in the last 4 years alone, more than 37.000 devices and accessories, contributing to:
- in prevention 9.000 kilos of CO2 in the atmosphere
- to prevent the discharge of 3,3 kg of toxic metals into the landfill (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic)
- recovery and reuse of 193 kg of metals (copper, gold, platinum, palladium, aluminum, steel)
- in the "conquest" of two Sustainable Development Goals (12, Responsible Consumption & 16, Collaboration on Goals)
Its Appliance & Accessories Recycling Program Vodafone is part of the responsible business operation and Sustainable Development of the company. For Vodafone, Sustainable Development is a strategic choice for this and it uses its technologies to contribute to the effort for a better future.
Since the beginning of its overall program, Vodafone has coordinated the collection and management of a state-authorized body that receives junk devices, batteries and accessories from Vodafone. He is responsible, in accordance with national law, for the reuse, disassembly and further use of materials for the production of other items.
From the beginning of the program we have collected and managed more than 900.000 devices & accessories.
