Vodafone, wanting to be with its society, businesses, citizens and employees in dealing with today and then for tomorrow, has developed an action plan with six main axes.
ΑResponding to the needs of this critical time, we take initiatives and actions for our society, businesses, citizens and employees, with the aim of being together in dealing with today and then for tomorrow, healthy, safe and ready for a future that is coming and will be better for everyone.
Message from Haris Broumidis, President & CEO of Vodafone Greece
The spread of COVID-19 around the world is already having a huge impact on the economy, social life and everyday life of all. The most important thing in the near future will be not only to meet the challenges healthy and safe, but together to continue our life and our plans for the future.
- Ensuring seamless communication between individuals and businesses
- Providing solutions for work and distance education
- Support for companies affected by operating restrictions
- The support of society but also the facilitation and help for the continuation of daily life, communication and entertainment, now that we all stay home
- The protection and safety of its employees
- Contributing to the project to minimize the spread and address the pandemic through the use of innovative technology and cooperation where required with the state
For each of them, we have already started specific actions and initiatives. The first actions we undertake are:
- Network quality assurance and dynamic capacity increase.
- The change of payment terms for small suppliers with the payment of invoices within 15 days from the issue.
- The free quarterly use of the Vodafone Smart Working package for businesses.
- Immediate business connection upgrades to support remote work.
- Free airtime from landline to mobile and international destinations and halved packet data rates for home and corporate contract customers.
- The free upgrade to the Family package for subscribers of the basic Vodafone TV package.
- Access to third-party educational platforms for young people and children and the further development and enrichment of the Vodafone Foundation's Generation Next digital education platform.
- The priority, to cover jobs related to our services, to people whose work has been affected by the restrictive measures imposed to control the pandemic.
- Work from home for 93% of the company's employees.
- The availability of Vodafone big data analytics technology for the protection of public health and assistance in dealing with the pandemic.
These are the first of our actions, but we do not stop here. We continue with new initiatives that will follow. I urge you to take care of yourself and your families and follow all state guidelines and health advice.
For my part, I assure you that the Vodafone team is working hard to be by your side as long as we stay home, to continue together and to be ready for the future that is coming and will be better for everyone.
