This practice aims to trick the recipient into entering personal information and passwords into misleading websites that resemble with the official websites.
In case you receive such messages, please do not click on the link and delete them immediately.
The following are recommended to protect you from cyber threats:
- Do not take any action (such as opening attachments or links) before confirming the authenticity of the message using the official communication channels with that company or service.
- Under no circumstances should you enter personal data, bank account details or personal codes (eg online banking usernames / passwords & OTP-pins) in such incoming messages.
- Use the most up-to-date "Internet browsers" and not automatically save passwords to web pages you visit (merchants, banks, social networking, etc.).
- Enter the web addresses of the above web pages yourself and do not "open" links that have been sent to you via email / SMS, or have been posted on social media or other companies' websites, even search engines.
- If you suspect a possible fraud attempt, contact the Cybercrime Prosecution here.
