Η Chinese company Royole introduced the FlexPai, the first foldable smartphone with flagship technical features, making the beginning of this new category of devices that we are expected to see from even more companies, mainly in 2019.
The FlexPai has an AMOLED screen which when unfolded reaches 7.8 inches with a 4: 3 aspect ratio, while when folded it has a size of 4 inches, with the company's Android skin called Water OS and allows the use of only half the screen when it is folded, with the other half showing only the wallpaper and the user choosing which of the two sides to use each time.
Inside the FlexPai we have a 7nm Snapdragon processor, which is likely to be the Snapdragon 8150 along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while there will be options for 8GB / 256GB and 8GB / 512GB. In terms of cameras, the device has a dual camera at 16MP and 20MP, with the second being a telephoto lens.
The device battery can charge from 0% -80% in an hour via fast Ro-Charge while the screen used can withstand up to 200000 times the folding process, something that should be seen in practice to determine the strength of the screen.
The FlexPai will be released at the end of December with the basic version (6GB / 128GB) costing 1140 euros and the larger one with 8GB / 512GB reaching 1647 euros.
