Google has all the technology, but also the applications it needs, to push navigation, a tool we all use every day, to the next level.
ΟThe two applications we are interested in are Google Maps and Street View. One lets you navigate using your location (via GPS) to guide you to your destination and the other is Street View, an app that lets you see (almost) anywhere in the world, in full 360 degrees environment, after one of Google's cars has passed through there.
This time around, Google is using a combination of these applications to create augmented reality navigation. In short, you will be able to see a part of Google Maps and at the same time on the screen of your mobile phone will appear symbols in 3D layout, which will fall on your environment, which you will see through the camera of the smartphone you are using. In short, you will not need to look down at your phone, but pick it up and see through it what the streets and buildings around you are called and where you need to go.
This new feature is currently available for testers, who will try it out before it is released to the general public.
The application may not be completely practical via smartphone, but later when the corresponding wearables may be extended, you will be able to see this information through your glasses.
