On July 2, the smartphones of the series were announced Xiaomi CC9. Among them and Xiaomi CC9e which is also the first Xiaomi Smartphone to wear it Snapdragon 665.
Ο SD 665 is built with the 11nm integration process, has Adreno 6 graphics processor, upgraded DSP Hexagon 686, HVX support etc. At the same time, the AI performance has increased significantly.
In order to make it clear to everyone in which category Xiaomi's new smartphone belongs, the company has provided detailed information on its performance in various conditions. The information refers to the overall performance, including CPU, GPU, AI, read / write speed, performance in games, etc.
The SD665 can be considered as the new Qualcomm 600 series mobile platform with the new 11nm LPN production process, which is more advanced than the Snapdragon 14 660nm process.
Processor
Qualcomm's new SOC has 4 large and 4 small cores in its architecture, as well as the Snapdragon 660. The clock speed of the Kryo 260 kernel is up to 2.0GHz. Thus, the device will make use of strong cores when, for example, you play a game or use an application that requires power, while in daily browsing web pages and other "light" applications, such as reading messages, will use small cores, saving energy this way.
In the GeekBench 4 test, the Snapdragon 665 and Kirin 710 platform performed slightly better in both single-core and multi-core tests.
GPU
Qualcomm SD665 uses the new Adreno 610 graphics processor, which provides an enhanced gaming experience and more Frames. We must also pay special attention to support for Vulkan 1.1, through which energy consumption can theoretically be reduced by 20%.
In the 3D Mark, in the high-performance and load scenario, such as the Sling Shot Extreme, the Snapdragon 665 scored 1131 points, a score that is 1,5 times higher than that of the Kirin 710. According to the Vulkan API, its score Snapdragon 665 is also 52% higher than that of Kirin 710.
THIRD GENERATION AIE Engine
As mentioned, the new SOC supports the third generation of artificial intelligence Qualcomm AIE Engine. It incorporates a high-performance Hexagon 686 DPS, which is newer than the Snapdragon 660, and supports HVX vector technologies that, in short, can greatly enhance the smartphone's photo recognition capabilities. In turn, this will help in the most natural portrait blur, in the separation of the human skin, and in general in the better processing of the photos in real time.
UFS 2.1
The Xiaomi CC9e is equipped with LPDDR4x memory and UFS 2.1 flash memory. The capabilities of reading and writing data are much better. In the Androbench test, the single-channel UFS 2.1 on the Xiaomi CC9e has 506MB / s in Random Read and 100MB / s in write, and compared to the Kirin 710's built-in eMMC flash memory, it has obvious advantages. Thus, the Mi CC9e will offer a better experience in file decompression in games and loading speed.
OVERALL PERFORMANCE
After understanding the capabilities of CPU, GPU and AI, we can see the overall performance of the Snapdragon 665 and Kirin 710 through Antutu. The Snapdragon 665 scores 147.393 points on AnTuTu, while the Kirin 710 scores 131.107.
In a similar Bench to another program, the Xiaomi CC9e with the Snapdragon 665 scored 195.214 points, which is much higher than the 145.897 of the Kirin 710 platform.
As for gaming performance, the Xiaomi CC9e can run the well-known MOBA mobile game smoothly. Even in very demanding scenes the device has no problem with the refresh rate. The average frame rate is 58,7fps, and the variation is small.
Under the same screen settings, the average refresh rate of the Kirin 710 is 54,3 fps.
