Measurement of blood pressure

High blood pressure is commonly associated with brain, kidney and heart disease and if left untreated can lead to stroke and coronary heart disease. Galaxy smartwatch can measure blood pressure through the application Samsung health monitor, which provides users with a better picture of health and allows them to make more informed decisions about their well-being.

Just the Galaxy Watch3 or Galaxy Watch Active2 Synchronized with a traditional armband, users can simply press the "Measure" command to measure their blood pressure, wherever they are. The device measures blood pressure through pulse analysis, which is monitored by heart rate monitors. The program then analyzes the relationship between synchronization value and blood pressure change to determine blood pressure.

Electrocardiogram monitoring

It is estimated that the atrial fibrillation (AFib) , a common form of abnormal heart rhythm, affects approximately 33,5 million people worldwide. AFib is often the cause of heart complications, including blood clots, insufficiency and stroke.

The electrocardiogram function electronically analyzes the activity of the heart through a sensor in Galaxy Watch3 or Galaxy Watch Active2. Users can simply open the Samsung Health Monitor app, sit comfortably and make sure the smartwatch fits snugly on their wrist. They can then rest their elbow on a flat surface and lightly touch the top button on the smartwatch with the finger of their opposite hand for 30 seconds. The app will then measure your heart rate and rhythm, which will be referred to as either the Sinus Rhythm (normal, normal heart rate) or the AFib (when the heart beats irregularly).

Availability

To access blood pressure and electrocardiogram measurements, users must have the application installed Samsung health monitor both in Galaxy Watch3 on either the Galaxy Watch Active2 and their Galaxy smartphone. The application Samsung health monitor is automatically installed when users update their Smartwatch Galaxy to the latest version through the app Galaxy Wearables. The smartwatch app will then open a link, which will direct users to the download page of the app on a smartphone from the Galaxy Store.

In Greece, the application upgrade will be gradually available at Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Watch Active2 the first quarter 2021.
