Samsung: Introduces New HDR10 + Adaptive Function for Enhanced Home Cinema Experience

Η Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that Samsung TVs will support the feature HDR10 + Adaptive, offering an enhanced cinematic viewing experience at home, regardless of the lighting conditions.


ΤHDR10 + Adaptive supports Film Maker Mode and adapts to any lighting conditions, allowing viewers to enjoy a true cinematic experience while watching movies and TV shows in HDR10 + technology in any home environment. HDR10 + Adaptive will be available worldwide on Samsung's upcoming QLED TVs.

Although HDR content is usually best viewed in a dark environment, indoor viewing conditions may vary depending on the lighting in the room, such as during the day or in rooms with plenty of natural light. The HDR10 + Adaptive function supports optimization each frame-by-frame scene, according to HDR10 + LLC specifications, and can now be adapted to any lighting condition, further enhancing the HDR experience. This feature utilizes it light sensor of the TV and ensures that the screen displays realistic images without loss of detail or contrast. All Prime Video HDR content is automatically available in HDR10 +.

HDR10 + Adaptive on Samsung QLED TVs also supports Filmmaker Mode, an image enhancement feature developed by Samsung as a member of the UHD Alliance in collaboration with filmmakers, movie studios and consumer electronics manufacturers. Samsung and Amazon Prime Video Network have joined forces to offer Filmmaker Mode and HDR10 + Adaptive to Prime Video customers.

"With HDR10 + and Filmmaker mode, the content of the Prime Video service is optimized regardless of the viewing environment, and consumers can enjoy movies and TV shows in a realistic, high-quality image."

More content will be available on HDR10 + from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE), while Samsung is expanding its technology partnership with OTT services around the world to include even more catalogs and new titles on HDR10 +.

The available UHD titles in Prime Video also include HDR10 +, so that all Prime Video subscribers can enjoy an upgraded HDR experience on almost all Samsung QLED TVs regardless of room lighting conditions.
